Day 1 : Pakse-Vat Phou-Champasak (L/D)

The long tail boat leaves Pakse in the morning down the Mekong River to Champasak. After a riverside lunch at Champasak explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Vat Phou. These pre-Angkorian temples mark the birthplace of the Khmer culture. In the late afternoon cruise down the Mekong as the sun sets before mooring for dinner and overnight on board.

Day 2 : Huei Thamo-Oum Mong Temple-Khong Island (B/L/D)

Breakfast. On board disembark at Huei Thamo, a few minutes walk from the spectacular pre-Angkorian temple of Oum Mong hidden in the forest. Return to the boat and continue the cruise downstream with lunch on the deck before arriving in the wilderness of the Four Thousand Islands. Visit Khong Island and the village of Muang Khong to witness the untouched way of life of the local people. Back onboard enjoy dinner to a serenade of toads while the sun sets over the Mekong. Overnight on board.

Day 3 : Ban Veuthong-Khone Papheng-Xieng Di-Pakse (B/L)

Breakfast on the deck while cruising to Ban Veuthong to take a local car-ferry to the amazing Khone Papheng Waterfalls, near the Cambodian border. At the small fishing village of Xieng Di board a long tail boat to Khone Island. The rare Irrawaddy Dolphins can sometime been seen in this area. Lunch amid the fine French colonial buildings on the island before returning to Pakse, a two-hour journey away be road. Arrive in Pakse around 16:00
